Moppo, a komondor covered in white cords, mid-jump over a rail with tongue out

Komondor · 2011 · Best in Show

The jump was magnificent. The identification took longer.

Moppo arrived looking like a hay bale that had hired a handler. Under all that corded coat there was, allegedly, a komondor. The judge shook what he believed was a paw and later admitted it might have been a decorative tassel having a good day. Then Moppo jumped, and the jump had a tongue, so everybody relaxed about the species question.

He cleared the rail. He also cleared a small misunderstanding with a child who wanted to mop the concession stand and had grabbed the wrong mop. No enhancements were found, largely because nobody could find the dog long enough to swab him. The ribbon was pinned on three times. The third time it stayed, which we counted as conformation.

Back to the champions.
